New brunches to make weekends great

After your Valentine’s Day binge dinner, sleep late and then try one of these brunches.

  • Scusi Trattoria, 4520 PGA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens; 561/429-6938; This new Italian venue with Chef Laurent Tourondel starts brunch on Saturdays and Sundays Feb 15. Included in the menu are a fennel sausage and egg pizza ($16, pictured above). Oh yes, please. Plus mimosas, Bellinis and Bloody Marys, of course.
  • Doggy Brunch, 500 block of Clematis Street, West Palm Beach: The Doggy Brunch will be held Feb. 16 in this block, where there will be games, treats and dog friendly spaces for your furry BFF. That’s along with the drink and meal specials, plus live music. Look for the doggy brunches each Sunday in February and also scheduled for March 1.

SOBEWFF hits the ground running this week, starting Wednesday with events from Miami to Palm Beach. The really good news is that this nationally known food and drink festival is offering BOGO for Valentine’s Day – buy one ticket, get one free if you buy by 5 p.m. today. This is a great deal for a lot of amazing experiences at SOBEWFF 2020.

There are a lot of choices left. Some include a bootcamp and bites with Chef Robert Irvine on Feb. 22 ($50 ticket), attend a dinner with James Beard award winners Vinny Dotolo, Jon Shook, Evan Funke and Thanawat Bates at Habitat on Miami Beach ($250), see Danny Trejo at Tacos After Dark ($150), nosh with Trisha Yearwood at her Southern Kitchen Brunch ($200), or hit the crazy Grand Tasting Village ($191.25-$275). And remember those are just single-price tickets, so if you buy today, you get two tickets for that price. Those are some good deals. Just go here:
