Are there two more popular words in the English language than “free burgers”?
We’ll find out Monday, Jan. 10, when Carmine Giardini’s latest CG Burgers + Coal Fired Pizzau (2000 PGA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens, 561-275-2185) celebrates its grand opening by giving away its signature all-natural, never-frozen, Niman Ranch hamburgers from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The CG crew is expecting to dish up 1,000 patties before the burger-fest is over, with the first 500 burgerholics getting preferred customer cards with points that can be redeemed at future visits.
Actually the second CG Burgers in Palm Beach Gardens, this one is a prototype for what Giardini hopes will be a massive national rollout, beginning with a quintet of South Florida openings by summer of this year. It features a rustic-retro design, with elements like floors of reclaimed fencing, bar and table tops made to resemble stone, a ceiling with recycled vents for chandeliers, and a combination of individual and communal seating.
Of course, there’s the menu to look over too, which features burgers starting at $3.50 for the Plain Jane patty to between $5 and $7 for such burgers as the California (avocado, tomato and sprouts) and Philly Cheese (peppers, onions and white cheddar cheese). There’s also a Kobe beef burger and patties made with lamb, bison, chicken and turkey.
Wings, sandwiches and a handful of pizzas are offered too, as well as shakes and sodas, beer and wine.
