t’s a destination: Lindsay Autry opens The Regional Kitchen & Public House
As if there’s another reason you need to head to West Palm Beach foodie heaven. On Sept. 10, noted Chef Lindsay Autry will open her first restaurant, The Regional Kitchen & Public House, 701 S. Rosemary, on Okeechobee Boulevard in CityPlace (561/557-6460). She’s teaming with restaurateur Thierry Beaud to offer “local ingredients and seasonally influenced dishes.” Her first restaurant includes a large indoor dining area, as well as an outdoor patio. Dinner service is first up, with lunch and brunch openings planned later.
Autry says the dishes will reflect her love of Southern cooking, as well as a Mediterranean flavor, and will wrap together all of her experiences in the cooking world. We know that means great flavors put together with delicious ingredients. Her menu will include dishes such as grilled snapper, roasted bone marrow, red wattle pork shank, and a made-tableside pimento cheese dish. Save a table for me!
Beaud is well versed in area restaurants, having a hand in Pistache French Bistro, PB Catch Seafood & Raw Bar, and Paneterie Café. Autry is well known both locally and nationally, having worked at Michelle Bernstein’s at the former Omphoy in South Palm Beach, as well as held chef positions in Delray Beach’s Sundy House, and worked in Mexico for several years. Her big TV break was as finalist on “Top Chef” while in her 20s.
New Bolay venues coming to Boca, Palm Beach Gardens
The bowl restaurant, Bolay, that’s become popular in Wellington, will be opening new restaurants in Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens. The “nutrient dense super food bowl restaurant” features a DIY menu. You choose a base (examples are gluten-free cilantro noodles, Peruvian quinoa), then add vegetables (maybe roasted Brussel sprouts, or butternut squash?) and a protein if you want (Ponzu tuna, lemon chicken, anyone?) and then a sauce. The options are endless.
In Boca, Bolay will open on Dec. 1 at what was formerly the Voodoo BBQ & Grill space in the Polo Club Shoppes. In Palm Beach Gardens, Bolay will be at 3333 Northlake Blvd., and is slated to open Oct. 29. The first Bolay, opened by Outback co-founder’s son, Chris Gannon, is at 250 S. State Road 7, Royal Palm Beach.
