New York Fashion Week never disappoints, and this year was no exception. Glitz, glam and glitter filled the runways for more designers than one, making that one of the biggest trends to look out for in Fall/Winter 2018.
The fashion event of the year is always filled with eclectic styles inspired by designers, so you never know what you’re going to get. As 20- to 30- somethings, obtaining these exact looks is a little out of our shopping and lifestyle budget but there are always fashionable alternatives you can find of these looks within your price range.
Take these runway photos as inspiration toward your own Fall/Winter 2018 wardrobe.
Stop what you’re doing because we’re going to start off with one of our favorite designers of NYFW. Insert: Willfredo Gerardo, and bring on glitz, glamour, and ultra-sexy silhouettes. Designing couture gowns has always come naturally to Gerardo, who now resides in Miami—so close to us! There’s something about his designs that captivates an audience and brings you in. It’s one of those moments you don’t want to end. Be on the lookout for his name on the celebrity red carpets during award season, because we have a feeling he will be taking over.
Your royal highness will see you now! Eva Habashi who premiered her couture collection, “La Rouyate,” aiming to balance the edge of a modern look with the classiness and richness of fabrics. If you know anything about us you know, there is nothing Lindsey loves more than a royal moment. She may or may not believe she was Queen Anne Boleyn in a previous life, but that is here nor there.
We’re not going to sugarcoat this: we have been fans of Christian Siriano since day one, episode one of “Project Runway.” His Fall/Winter 2018 collection had everything to do with the glamour and excitement of a royal dinner party. His elegant collection kept us entranced with luxe fabrics and romantic silhouettes, as it was inspired by late 18th century British art that hangs in the Queen’s Gallery in London. You know how we feel about British history, so being a part of this show proved to be everything we could have possibly dreamed of. Siriano’s collection recalls some of the most notable looks from that decade, which has been modernized for his customers today. Anyone have a black-tie wedding to plan for?
Candice Cuoco was another show we knew we couldn’t miss because we’ve been following her career since she was a finalist on season 14 on “Project Runway.” There’s nothing we love more than a dramatic performance, which was another reason this show was a must-see for LLScene. Cuoco premiered her Belladonna Collection with sophisticated darkness, drama and provocation—basically everything we love in life. Known for her luxury leather womenswear that pushes guidelines and embodies the strength of women, Cuoco stepped outside the lines with her Belladonna Collection during New York Fashion Week.
Charles & Ron
Known for bold statement colors, prints and patterns Charles & Ron launched their new collection sticking to their contemporary lifestyle brand. The high-end clothing clothing line came complete with bags and a distinct Mediterranean twist to style. The Fall/Winter 2018-2019 collection, “Palazzo” explored some the rich and opulent treasures of the Maltese islands. Our favorite look of the collection was the distorted stripe pattern with graphic prints. Fall/Winter 2018 will be all about stripes and mis-matching your style identity with Charles & Ron.
