New Social Hour menu, drinks at Nitrogen

Just east of I-95 off Indiantown Road in Jupiter is Nitrogen Bar, Grill & Sushi, which says it all. This speakeasy-style venue, with brick, dark wood and funky, upscale décor, specializes in small bites to go with the gorgeous cocktails from mixologist David Bouchard (formerly of The Cooper). A recent visit proved the bites, such as cucumber sashimi “lollipops,” spicy tuna roll or sweet potato tempura, were addictive, while the cocktails, such as the The Erato (pictured; photo by could be just as addictive. The Erato has vodka, pomegranate, lime, cinnamon and orange flower water. The new Social Hour drinks and eats here (6779 W. Indiantown Road, Jupiter, 561/972-2944) are worth a detour on the way home.

‘Buck-a-Shuck’ celebrates National Oyster Day

From Aug. 1-7, both Racks Downtown Eatery (pictured; 402 Plaza Real, 561/395-1662) and Racks Fish House + Oyster Bar (5 SE 2nd Ave., Delray Beach, 561/450-6718) will celebrate National Oyster Day (it’s Aug. 5) with $1 per oyster happy hour throughout the restaurant. They are sold by the half-dozen, and should make a hot August a little easier with half shells on ice.
