Rocco Mangel is passionate about life in general.
He just opened a new Rocco’s Tacos (the seventh) in Tampa on Feb. 12, and he’s celebrating the 10th anniversary of his first Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar on Feb. 24 with a block party in downtown West Palm Beach. Then on Feb. 25, he’s participating in the Walk MS West Palm Beach with his family, friends and co-workers.
He’s inviting you to join him in those events, which both have special meanings for him. The 10th anniversary party is self-evident, the other may not be, but last year, Mangel announced that he is living with multiple sclerosis, a disease in which the immune system attacks the central nervous system. So far, he’s raised more than a half-million dollars for the National MS Society and recently received that organization’s Hope Award.
The 10th anniversary celebration is Feb. 24 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Clematis Street in front of Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar there, at 224 Clematis St., West Palm Beach. Walk MS West Palm Beach starts at 7 a.m. on Feb. 25 at 101 S. Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. Both events are reasons to get to Clematis this weekend.
