Runners: Race Season is Here

The weather is cooling. It’s time to sign up for one of many local running events—all for good causes.

Homecoming Run for Autism 2014

Where: Florida Atlantic University’s Track and Field Complex (777 Glades Road, Boca Raton)

When: Sunday, Oct. 26 at 5:15 p.m.

Runners can choose between a 5K or one-mile fun run around FAU’s track. For more information, check out our blog on the race or call the Runner’s Edge in Boca Raton at 561/361-1950. You can sign up for the race here.

Sun Capital Half Marathon and 5K

Where: Starts at Spanish River Park (3001 Florida A1A, Boca Raton)

When: Sunday, Nov. 2 at 6:30 a.m.

The half marathon (13.1 miles) is along A1A. Cost is $50 until Oct. 28. Cost for the 5K run/walk is $25. Runners should stick around after the race for a free pancake breakfast. All finishers of both races get a half-dozen Krispy Kreme donuts. (Don’t worry, you’ll have earned it.) These races benefit the Boca Raton Police Athletic League. Five Guys 5K and Family 1 Mile for Muscular Dystrophy Association

Where: Spanish River Athletic Complex (1000 N.W. Spanish River Blvd., Boca Raton)

When: Sunday, Nov. 16; 5K takes off at 7:15 a.m.; one miler and kids’ runs start at 8:15 a.m.
