SAIA Opens in B Ocean Resort

Contemporary pan-Asian cuisine inspired by the street food of Thailand, plus the always-popular wackymaki sushi are what’s on the table at the just-opened SAIA restaurant (999 Fort Lauderdale Blvd., 954/302-5252) in the swanky B Ocean Fort Lauderdale.

Executive chef Subin Chenkorsorn comes to the resort, named after its prime beachfront location at AIA and Sunrise Boulevard, from SoBe’s oh-so-trendy Delano, where he was assistant sushi chef. So you can expect dishes like the Fire Dragon Rolll (shrimp tempura, avocado and snow crab topped with spicy tuna and masago) and tuna, salmon and whitefish Uzuzukuri (thin-sliced fish with garlic ponzu, scallions and arugula). Traditional entrees will be served family style.

There’s also a full roster of sakes, signature mixological cocktails and four flavors of house-infused soju, a vodka-like Korean spirit.

As for the restaurant itself, it features an open-air exhibition kitchen, regular bar and sushi bar, and teppanyaki grill. Sounds AOK to me.
