Summer in South Florida means heat, humidity, hurricanes, mosquitoes and lots of good deals at local restaurants. Here are a few:
At Gary Rack’s Table 42 (399 SE Mizner Blvd., 561/826-2625), the Royal Palm Place eatery has got a bunch of special offers. “Wine Down Mondays” mean almost every bottle of wine in the place is 50 percent off. “Burger Fridays” mean $5 burgers from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., along with an 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. happy hour with two-for-one drinks. And if you’re looking for a good deal for lunch or an early dinner, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, you can get a personal pizza and side house or Caesar salad for all of eight bucks or take advantage of a two-for-one offer (but each person’s gotta buy a drink and the offer ends Tuesday, July 31).
At Rosalita’s (5949 S. Congress Ave., 561/964-5747) in Atlantis, every day until 6 p.m. there’s what they call their “2-4-20” meal deal. You and a buddy get to split one of several selected appetizers, then you each get an entrée (with rice and beans), followed by a dessert to share, all for $20. (You both gotta buy a drink here too.) Not too shabby, huh?
And at sleek, trendy Union (8 E. Atlantic Ave., 561/330-4236) in downtown Delray, you can make their happy hour more like a happy evening if you swing by the restaurant and pick up one of their Union Member Cards. That will get you very happy from 5 to 10 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday, when cocktails are three-for-one and all menu items are half off.
