Small Bites: All the Restaurant News You Can Use

It’s the slow time of year in our little corner of paradise. . . for everything except hurricanes. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few restaurants gearing up to open, though details are pretty sketchy at the moment.

October is the projected opening date for Cha Cha’s, the modern pan-Latin eatery in the old Trevini spot on Worth Avenue from the folks who’ve brought you Cucina Delle Art’e, E.R. Bradley’s, and Nick and Johnnie’s. The restaurant’s website and Facebook page are up but that’s all. I’ll report back with more info as soon as I can.

Set to debut Sunday, Sept. 17, is Russell Young’s Signature Steakhouse in the former Outback meatery location in the Village Commons shopping center in West Palm Beach. Word is the signature will be upscale beef at midscale prices, with perhaps a second signature heading for Boca Raton. Another item to look into.

And don’t forget another emporium of designer beef, Red The Steakhouse, which plans a November debut in Boca’s Wyndham Garden hotel sometime in November. There should be more news from the Red folks about that and another project coming soon.
