I used to love Spring Break when I was a kid. It was always a nice, easy week to sleep in, veg out and typically take the first ceremonial dip in our pool of the season (we didn’t have a heater). My grandparents lived locally, so they would oftentimes take my sister and I on excursions to Butterfly World or the Swap Shop while my parents got some work done. They ran their own business, so had more flexibility than most moms and dads.
However, I know that not all parents have the luxury of taking the week of Spring Break off. So, this Boca mom wants to recommend some awesome camps—some new, some classic—in our area that can entertain and educate your Boca kids when school is out.
The Miami Dolphins are coming to Deerfield Beach
It’s true! The Miami Dolphins are swimming north to offer local children ages 8 to 14 a “Junior Dolphins” Spring Break Camp experience. The Junior Dolphins program is designed to give kids access to learn the fundamentals of football using the NFL’s top resources. The program works to educate coaches, parents and youth on the health and safety of football with a strong emphasis on character development. We love it! March 27 Junior Dolphins Spring Break Camp at Westside Park, 445 SW Second St., Deerfield Beach, JuniorDolphinsFootball.com.
Shake up Spring Break with Twister

The Sugar Sand Park Science Explorium will host their version of camp, a Spring Break Blast, for Boca kids in grades 1-5 this year! Campers will perform activities and experiments, play games, and more. The highlight? Starlab Adventure (March 24, 2018) will give kids the opportunity to explore the galaxy in the inflatable planetarium. Additional programs during the week include Bright & Smart’s Mysteries of Minecraft and 3D printing, KidzArt, Fun & Fitness Activities program, Fun Chefs Academy of Cooking and a Digital Arts Workshop.
