It’s getting to that time of year where parents start to panic about how they’ll keep their little ones busy throughout Boca’s hot and humid (and often rainy) summer months. I’m not talking about school-aged children either. I’m talking about that unique stage between active baby and not-so-tiny toddler where they (and you!) crave unique, stimulating activities that in the end…tire them out. And when there’s constant South Florida heat involved, it becomes quite the challenge.
Luckily, we have some great ideas for you on how to have a ton of safe summer fun with your little ones!
Mommy & Me Classes
These aren’t your mother’s mommy & me classes…
Between “Sing & Splash” water play parties for babies and music and movement sessions under shady trees for toddlers, you’ll definitely want to book a summer class pass to attend these educational and entertaining activities. Bonus: they are all held during the morning hours, so the temperatures outside are still bearable!
If you insist on being in the A/C (I can’t say I blame you), there’s a Boca Raton mommy and me class option for you too!
Splash pads are a mom’s best friend when your child is little. The risk of water-related injury is super low AND you get to cool off a bit too as you’re chasing your kid around! In Florida, this is a BENEFIT during the summer, trust me.
Some of these local splash pads are more well-known than others, but they are all equally fun!

A Children’s Museum
While the Boca Raton Children’s Museum may still be closed, there is still one in Boynton Beach that is growing and thriving. The Schoolhouse Children’s Museum & Learning Center is welcoming visitors Monday-Saturday at a limited capacity (and reduced hours) with really affordable admission. You can also get a membership if you plan to go often.
There are two play sessions throughout the day and reservations are required, but it is a ton of fun for toddlers who are eager to learn and explore. The air conditioning alone makes this “field trip” with your little ones worth it!
Organize an ArtNest Ambush
If you have a nice sized group of mom friends with little ones, we can’t recommend a more unique Boca/Delray activity than an ArtNest Ambush! They’ll come to your home with all the supplies (paints, tarps, etc.), set up in your backyard, “ambush” your group with fun art activities and then clean up and leave!
Don’t worry, all of the “mess” comes right out in the bath and washing machine. Bonus: you’ll get adorable (and/or hilarious) photos of your kiddos covered in multi-colored paint!
