As a blogger, I occasionally get invited to do some cool things. One of these things recently was being invited on my first ever Walt Disney World media trip to preview all things holiday at the parks. The No. 1 thing I learned? No one does a holiday like Disney.
Holiday cheer is everywhere at Walt Disney World this year! With new shows at Disney Springs, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom, there’s no shortage of festive entertainment vying to get you and your family into the holiday spirit. These were the top 3 moments from my trip:
Watching Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! from a Hollywood Studios Dessert Party
Hollywood Studios is bringing the entertainment factor this Christmas with their all-new nighttime spectacular “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” The facade of the Chinese Theater comes alive with state-of-the-art projections, and guests will experience special effects, fireworks…even snow! We watched the spectacle from a roped off area featuring a private dessert party with festive cocktails. It’s truly a memorable way to experience the show. “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” will run until Dec. 31, 2016.
Waving to Mickey at the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party “Once Upon a Christmastime” Parade
This holiday parade was one for the books. Main Street, U.S.A. is literally transformed into a snowy paradise with Santa Claus, gingerbread men, elves, reindeer, toy soldiers and other friends from the North Pole joining Mickey and his pals on fantastical floats. I watched the parade in front of Tony’s Town Square Restaurant which provided an amazing vantage point in front of the Magic Kingdom Christmas Tree. It was perfect for photos!
Marveling at 300 synchronized drones in “Starbright Holidays” at Disney Springs
“Starbright Holidays – An Intel Collaboration” is a first-of-its-kind light show featuring 300 Intel® Shooting Star™ show drones. The hi-tech spectacle invites guests to gaze skyward and make a special wish this holiday season. The synchronized choreography of the drones is set to a specially orchestrated arrangement of classic holiday music and a few classic Disney melodies too! It was extremely impressive. Definitely a must-see…no park admission necessary!
Be sure to add these options to your to do list if you decide to visit Walt Disney World Resort this holiday season.
