Toast Mexican Independence and Cheeseburgers

It’s a party and you’re invited.

Rocco’s Tacos, the hip Mexican taqueria with locations in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale, will be celebrating Mexican Independence Day on Friday, Sept. 16, with an all-day, all-venue bash.

Drink specials, live music, DJs, free tequila pourings, prize giveways. . . all that stuff will be going on from 11 a.m. ‘til the cows go home. . . sober or dead drunk. The Lauderdale Rocco’s will close down the adjacent parking lot for a party featuring music by Suenalo. At the Boca Rocco’s, the cover band Edge will perform, while more DJs than you can shake your booty at will be jacking things up at the Rocco’s on Clematis Street.

Then on Sunday, one of Rocco’s other partners under the Big Time Restaurant Group umbrella will be celebrating National Cheeseburger Day. That would, of course, be Grease Burger Bar (213 Clematis St., 561/651-1075), where on Sunday, Sept. 18, they’ll be offering half-priced burgers, from their cute little sliders to the Adam Richman-esque “Grease Beast,” a regular ol’ cheeseburger piled with fries, onion rings, cheese sauce and ranch dressing, then slapped between two grilled bacon ‘n’ cheese sandwiches.
