Here’s some good news: the 26th annual West Palm Beach Greenmarket will open as scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the waterfront at the east end of Clematis Street. Parking is the same: free for the first two hours in the city garages.
There are changes: no kid activities, no live music, no café seating, no bottomless mimosas (what?), no food samples. Masks are mandatory, and shoppers will have to follow a specific path. There’s no socializing this year, just shopping. The vendors are always terrific, too.
More than 10 new vendors are in the new lineup, including Annie’s Pastry Shop, Coco Fine Foods, Daniela’s Kitchen, Devil’s Breath Hot Sauce/Angel Wings Dressing, Dogs Dinner Palm Beach, European Chimney Cake, Freezie Foodz, GilbertribkingBBQ, Hooked on Ponics, L&M Bakery, Meraki Juice Kitchen, Panacea Pearls, Pure Gold Kombucha and Zipitios.
And there are new slogans, of course. Try “Lettuce shop safely,” “Peas remember masks are a must,” “Keep 6 beets apart”!

Some things changing: Swank Farms Farmers Market opening
While WPB opens its greenmarket on Oct. 3, one familiar vendor won’t be there and instead will be launching another market on the same day.
After 19 years at the WPB market, popular Swank Specialty Produce will turn its huge, covered pole barn area into a farmers market weekly on Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be 25 local and artisan vendors there – and masks are required for attendance. If you’ve never had a chance to visit this hydroponic farm, you should put this market on your list.
During the summer months, Swank also had market vendors there and helped keep a supply of fresh produce alive for folks during the tough times.
Plus – the wonderful Swank dinners will be back in 2021. Here’s a peek at the schedule, with details and tickets on the website soon:
