Are you already counting down the days to Spring Break like I am? It feels like the holidays and Omicron were ages ago. The latter being a good thing, of course! Now, I’m well aware that this week off from school isn’t really a “break.” Since becoming a mom, it’s usually anything but. You either need to plan activities or book a Spring Break camp for your kids. Otherwise it’s screen time all the time…at least in my house.
As a local blogger, knowing how helpful it would be to me and other families, I dove headfirst into researching tons of different South Florida camp options. Whether your son or daughter is into gymnastics, sewing, science, art, water sports—you name it, I probably have a great local recommendation for you. And if you’d rather do “Camp Mom (or Dad)”, then I have some unique ideas for you as well.
Just remember to squeeze some fun into the week. It’s been a rough two years. The whole family deserves this break.
Twisters Spring Break Camp
If your child, age 5+, LOVES climbing, jumping, running and flipping, then they will have a BLAST at Twisters Boca Raton or American Twisters in Coconut Creek. Registration includes gymnastics instruction, arts & crafts, movie time, fun and games! My daughter informed me that there’s also a fair amount of open play during the day. She hates to miss it in the mornings.
In addition to spring break and summer camp, Twisters offers many “fun days” throughout the school year during holiday breaks and teacher work days! It’s an air-conditioned lifesaver when it’s hot out!
Petite Designers Spring Break Camp
Offering both full and half day options for children ages 6+, Petite Designers Sewing & Fashion Design School gives young sewing enthusiasts the opportunity to make accessories, pillows, stuffed animals, doll clothes and more during Spring Break. The week culminates with a Friday fashion show where each camper can share what they made during the week on a real runway!
Petite Designers Sewing Camp is perfect for beginners as well as kids with a sewing background. Its talented, dedicated instructors guide kids with different levels of experience in a safe and friendly environment. My mom, friends and I have even booked private camps with them when we have a random school day off. They are great!
