Boca magazine found out on Tuesday that it is a finalist in two categories for the Sunshine State Awards, the annual journalism contest hosted by Florida chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
The magazine is a finalist for best news site and for blog writing.
“While we have published Boca magazine for almost 40 years, I am so proud of our digital presence as well,” says editor-in-chief Marie Speed. “Christiana Lilly, our web editor, is largely responsible for this trajectory in terms of our reach and effectiveness.
The winners will be announced at SPJ Florida’s awards ceremony on July 20 in Fort Lauderdale.
Just a few weeks ago, the Florida Magazine Association announced its own finalists for the Charlie Awards. Boca magazine is a finalist in four categoriess, and will find out the winners on July 12 in St. Petersburg.
