Boca magazine is proud to be a finalist in four categories in this year’s Charlie Awards, hosted by the Florida Magazine Association.
The finalists were announced Monday morning, showcasing the best in consumer, trade and association publications in the Sunshine State.
The magazine is a finalist for Best Overall Design, Best Overall Magazine, Best Writing (in-depth reporting for “Of Human Bondage” by Christiana Lilly), and Best Writing (featuring reporting for “The Gunshine State” by Randy Schultz).
“We are thrilled to hear this—it is always gratifying to get peer recognition,” says Marie Speed, Boca mag editor-in-chief. “Our small staff is committed to excellence in magazine journalism and these awards are a small way to recognize their hard work, ingenuity and dedication—year after year.”
Boca magazine has long been recognized by the Florida Magazine Association. Last year, the magazine won bronze for Overall Magazine and Overall Writing, silver for the Backstage Pass section, and a Charlie Award for Best Commentary.
The winners will be announced at a gala on July 12 during the Florida Media Conference in St. Petersburg.
