It’s that time again! Time to stash those stilettos. And the tux and the gown and the little raised pinky as you sip your Champagne. It’s out of the ballroom and back to the ranch at this year’s Rhinestone “Boots and Bling” Cowboy Ball Saturday night Feb. 11, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Boca West Country Club, 20583 Boca West Drive, Boca Raton.

What has been known for years as the “Cowboy Ball” is a down-home party with a western theme, long revered as a welcome departure from the black tie benefits that rule the season in Boca. The party benefits the George Snow Scholarship Fund, which contributes about $1.2 million a year in scholarships and scholarship support services to deserving and underserved kids from all over the county.

This year, the ball will feature live music from Resonance, playing party favorites with a country flair; line dancing led by Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Boca Raton; casino games like blackjack; craps and roulette; whiskey tasting from Warren American Whiskey Kitchen; alligator wrestling (they are upgrading from a mechanical bull to a mechanical alligator); a raffle to win $5,000 and an open bar and barbecue buffets.

Time is running out so dust off your boots, dig out the jeans and make a plan for fun at this year’s Cowboy Ball. Visit scholarship.org for more information—and we’ll see you there!
