Bring your Pup to Yoga at Tri-County Animal Shelter!

Now your dog can practice his downward dog, too!

Twice a month starting on July 24, the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Boca Raton will be hosting a yoga class where both you and your doggos are welcome.

“This class will be therapeutic for both the humans and the dogs, and it will create a community of like-minded people who love animals,” yoga instructor Naya Rappaport said in a press release.

On the first and third Wednesday of every month at 8 a.m., you and your dog are invited to partake in “Downdog with Dogs,” an hour-long class led by Rappaport. If you do not own a dog, there are plenty of adoptable pooches at the animal shelter who would love to join.

The class will incorporate yoga poses and your good boy so you both can work on your mind, body and spirit.

“Participants will interact with their fur babies or adoptable dogs by massaging their paws, body, head and neck, while doing poses,” Rappaport said.

The class is for all levels, so tell your doggo not to stress if they aren’t a yoga expert. The class costs $15 and is a 100 percent donation to the Tri-County Animal Shelter.

Well-behaved and social dogs are welcome to join “Downdog with Dogs.” Pups should be wearing a non-retractable leash, and owners must show proof that their pals are up-to-date with shots to participate. Participants should bring a yoga mat or towel and water for the class and are encouraged to bring an extra towel for donation.
