CityPlace is Getting a New Name and a $550M Makeover

You’ve already seen the construction going on at CityPlace in West Palm Beach, but there’s much more to come in the next five years.

The shopping and entertainment center announced that it will be rebranding to Rosemary Square, as well as its plan for a five-year, $550 million renovation.

According to a release from CityPlace, it will be transformed into a “vibrant community and destination,” featuring green spaces, commercial offices in the 360 Rosemary tower, a residential tower, retail and culinary stores, a new hotel next to the Hilton West Palm Beach, and arts and culture programming.

We already knew that True Food Kitchen would be opening a new location, but the announcement also included Sur la Table, Tacos & Hip Hop (a “food and music concept”), seafood restaurant High Dive, Barrio Sangria Bar from Big Time Restaurant Group, and a new location for The Shack.

Due to the recent construction, the area has more walkability. Later this year, the half-mile connection to the West Palm Beach downtown area will be completed. Also, Danish artist Jeppe Hein has been tapped to create “Water Pavilion West Palm,” a water installation that visitors will be able to walk in and out of.

Culture has been a growing part of the CityPlace brand, with the Culture Lab building featuring interactive artwork (including a chalkboard wall reading “Before I die I want to…”) and the popular traveling exhibit “Downton Abbey the Exhibition.”

Did you know? Boca mag members get $5 off tickets to “Downton Abbey the Exhibition!” Exhibit is in town through April 22.
