English Tap & Beer Garden to Debut July 15

Todd English’s former Wild Olives in the Shops at Boca Center, now in the process of moving next door and become English Tap & Beer Garden (5050 Town Center Circle, 561/544-8000), will throw open its doors in mid-July, according to the restaurant’s publicist.

English will still be involved in the restaurant, as it’s based on his Todd English P.U.B. (Public Urban Bar) in Las Vegas. But top dog is clearly proprietor John Watson, who also owns Taverna Opa in Miami’s Dolphin Mall and Wild Ginger in CityPlace.

Cheffing at the Beer Garden will be ex-Wild Olives’ toque Ken Stevens, who will add dishes like wasabi tuna, Asian chicken salad, items from a daily raw bar and an assortment of flatbreads and paninis to the typical pub menu of burgers, sliders, bangers & mash and more. Some 30 beers will be served on-tap, with another 60 by the bottle.

Like most restaurants in these trying economic times, the Beer Garden will offer an array of dining deals, including a daily happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. featuring half-price drinks and $4.95 appetizers, as well as daily dinner and drink specials, a DJ and live music.
