Father’s Day Meals for Staying Home or Going Out

Here are some suggestions for treating Dad on Father’s Day, whether you’re staying home or going out. If you’re going out, make reservations soon. If you’re staying in, you may want to order some of these specialties soon, too.

Staying home

Potions in Motion, http://steaksinmotion.com: This gourmet food catering company has compiled “Father’s Day in a Box” (pictured above) and delivers to Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties ($10 delivery charge). The box ($99) includes an eclectic mix of things that include: a carafe of handmade bourbon old-fashioned, four bottles assorted craft beer, two cigars, one cigar cutter, four Halpern’s 8 oz. sirloin/brisket/short rib burger blends, four brioche buns, six Hebrew Nat’l all-beef kosher hotdogs and six hotdog buns, 2 lbs. Hellman’s potato salad, 2 lbs. cold pasta primavera salad, eight fresh chocolate chip cookies, one 10 lb. bag of ice and an Igloo “Wheelie” 38-quart cooler. Add-ons include lobster tails and a vintage 1969 “Playboy” magazine.

Sunshine Provisions, https://www.sunshineprovisions.com/fathers-day: I’ve written before about this wholesaler in Broward County that delivers to Palm Beach County (any orders $99 or more get free delivery). Consider some of the Father’s Day special packages being offered. An example: For $110, two 8 oz. Angus beef skirt steaks, 8 patties of blend burgers; 2.5 lbs of sweet pork Italian sausage, 2 lbs. of chicken wings, two baby lamb racks, one pack of Wagyu beef hotdogs and a box of kosher salt. And that includes delivery.  Products include all kinds of meat, poultry, eggs, dairy, seafood, honey, produce and more. Meats and poultry are shrink wrapped and easy to freeze. This is a griller’s dream.

The Meating Place, two locations in Boca Raton (277 E. Palmetto Park Road and 3013 Yamato Road); https://www.meatingplaceboca.com/: I’ve also written about The Meating Place before, with an amazing array of meats, seafood, deli products, prepared foods, unique canned goods and sweets and more. A friendly and knowledgeable staff means all your questions will be answered promptly.

Deck 84 and Max’s Grille (www.deck84.com/store, www.maxsgrille.com/store) will be offering Cookout packages for 4. Both locations are featuring a ready-to-grill package so you can skip the grocery store. The Cookout package includes (4) 8oz special blend burgers, buns, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and (2) footlong hotdogs with buns for $50. The package also includes your choice of a house red or white wine, 6-pack of beer or a dessert. Orders must be placed online by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17.

Prezzo (PrezzoBoca.com/online-ordering), will be offering two take out deals to pick-up this Father’s Day:

  • Family-style Meals – Packages starting at $40/4 people which includes your choice of salad, entree & side.
  • Date Night Deal- Order any (2) entrees and receive a bottle of house wine for free.
