Fountain of Youth

While we can’t turn back time—nor do we want to—there’s plenty of ways to regain that beautiful, youthful glow in your skin.

Dr. Jacob Steiger

A step to younger-looking skin is hydrated skin, and that’s just what Dr. Jacob Steiger’s hydrafacial accomplishes. During the gentle facial treatment, the patient’s pores are opened to extract any dead skin and dirt, then infused with ingredients like salicylic acid and glycolic acid. A serum is also used for a light peel. “It’s cleaning out your pores very, very thoroughly, because … the machine is going through every single pore,” Steiger says. Not only is the skin being cleaned, it’s also exfoliated and undergoing intense hydration. This encourages the production of collagen, a protein that amps up skin elasticity and wrinkle reduction. This one has us feeling like a mermaid! The treatment uses ingredients from the sea to bring a glow back to your face. During the process, the skin is infused with organic seaweed extracts, antioxidants, Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to improve cellular function, refine pores, heal sun damage and more. “Seaweed [marine algae] is one of the most abundant sources of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and essential fatty acids—it is 10 times richer in trace elements than land plants,” says Donna Mainiero, spa director of Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa. Also, white algae, white wine and white tea are blended into marine-based, anti-aging serums to brighten skin and reduce pigmentation. Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa, 5 N. Yen Reis

Coming to Town Center in July, Skin Laundry got its start in Los Angeles—but visitors won’t only find great skin care products. The pros at the company offer three different facial treatments, all with varying levels of intensity: Laser & Light, Carbon Peel and Ultra Fractional. “Each of our three treatments will effectively fight signs of aging by stimulating collagen at the dermal layer, as well as targeting discoloration from the sun or other root causes,” says founder Yen Reis. The Ultra Fractional targets unwanted pigmentation, stimulates the body’s natural wound-healing response for cell turnover, and creates tiny micro-channels for products to penetrate the skin more effectively. It’s the most intense of the three, but have no fear—there’s no downtime required. Skin Laundry at Town Center, 6000 Glades Road, Boca Raton;
