One of Boca Raton’s most beloved nonprofit organizations isn’t letting the pandemic get in the way of hosting its annual fundraiser. The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center will host its 3rd annual Gumbo + Good Times event at Crazy Uncle Mike’s on December 2 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Attendees will sample signature gumbo, chowders and desserts from local top chefs and restaurants and vote for their favorite recipes. Tasting options will be provided by local restaurants including Eat Veg, Turtle’s Bakeree, Crazy Uncle Mikes, Cardona’s Kitchen, Funky Buddha Brewery, Harvest Grill and Loch Bar.
The event will also include a silent auction and a pop-up shop that will feature merchandise, holiday gifts and apparel. One-of-a-kind items, including a scuba diving photography trip with world-renowned photographer Ben Hicks, will be available.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center and its mission to help endangered marine life and sea turtles.
The event will be limited to 200 attendees, and CDC measures will be in place to ensure safety throughout the duration of the event. Masks are required for entry, and will be available for sale at the door.
The food tasting, pop-up shop, and VIP tent will all be held outdoors. Tickets to the event are $35, and include admittance to the tasting, two drink tickets, and one signature cocktail. They can be purchased at www.gumbolimbo.org/gumbofest-2020.
