If you’re in the mood to party, a pair of new additions to the dining-nitelife mix at CityPlace should be right up your alley.
Already up and running is Pura Vida Lounge & Nightclub, a tropically inspired hotspot said to be channeling the party-hearty vibe of Costa Rica. As its name suggests, Pura Vida is divided into two distinct venues. One is the lounge, with a laid-back beach-y theme and tiki-style beach bar. The other is the nightclub, a rather more energetic space with lava lamp-like “lava bar,” an “ice bar” serving frozen drinks and stage for live performances.
Coming next month is Carlos ‘n Charli’s, only the second U.S. outpost of this good-timey Mexican restaurant from the Mexico-based Grupo Andersons chain, which also operates Senor Frogs and other theme eateries. Taking over the old Mark’s space next to City Cellar, the new C’n’C will dispense all the usual Mexican favorites, from tacos and enchiladas to fajitas and flan. Oh, and a gringo burger too.
If you work in the area, you might want to check out what sounds like a pretty decent lunch deal: $8 to $10 for your choice of entree, with a small salad, soup and slice of flan. That might leave enough bills left over in your wallet to have their own party.
