Park Tavern has announced that it will close its doors after 15 years on Atlantic Avenue.
The restaurant made the announcement on its social media, stating in a Facebook and Instagram post, “As we prepare to close our doors, we’re raising a glass to the guests, team members and community who made Park Tavern what it is. Join us for one last bite.”
The post made no mention of a closing date, but an administrator of the Delray Beach Community Forum Facebook group posted that Park Tavern’s final dinner service will be on Oct. 18. Commenters on Park Tavern’s post lamented the loss of its happy hour, Sunday brunch, and espresso martinis. Commenters on both decried rising rents for downtown businesses. Park Tavern did not give a reason for the closure.
Park Tavern is the fourth restaurant on Atlantic Avenue to close this year, following True Vegan, Lefkes Estiatorio, and Cut 432. Both Park Tavern and Cut 432 were owned by Modern Restaurant Group (MRG), which also owns El Camino. El Camino remains MRG’s last dining concept, with four locations across Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and Delray Beach.
