Already a favorite in Broward County, Living Green Fresh Market opened its third location—this time in Boca Raton.
Located in the Fifth Avenue Shops on Federal Highway, the 2,000-square-foot market features a bakery, juice bar, sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, hot food station and a wall of wine. Customers can take their food to go, or grab a seat out front in the 2,000-square-foot patio and enjoy their meal under a canopy.
Since it sits in the same plaza at Publix, founder Anthony Papageorgiou opted not to include the grocery store that the other two locations in Oakland Park and Pompano Beach have.
“The foods have been doing better and better and better, so we decided in this one to focus on that only and expand on the food items,” Papageorgiou says.
With a focus on providing high-quality food, much of the food is organic and there’s no shortage of cruelty-free products. Behind the counter, customers can get vegan brownies, gluten-free chocolate ganache, lime coconut bars, macarons, and other sweets. Like the other locations, the kitchen is an open concept because “we encourage transparency and let people see what we use.”
“Everything we make, we make it as if we’re going to feed our family. I know it’s a cliche—a lot of places say ‘We use good ingredients,’ but we truly use them,” he says, giving the example that all the salt they use is Himalayan salt.
“When you try something [and] you know it’s good but you don’t know why it’s good, it’s all these little things that make a difference…We wouldn’t have it if we wouldn’t eat it.”
The market had a soft opening on Tuesday, and once they’re settled, the staff (they’re still hiring!) will host a grand opening. The market is open every day from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
