Enjoy Negronis While Supporting Charities This Week

Amidst all the “national food” days lately, I haven’t seen anything that benefits charities—until Negroni Week, which starts today (June 4 to 10). This one is special both for doing good, and for being such a large effort. We’ve got venues jumping in from Palm Beach County down through Miami!

Restaurants and bars that signed up to participate at promised portions of Negroni cocktail sales will go to different charities. You can find lists of both at that website. Or you can read the list I’ve put together below. My job is to make your life easier, after all!

And there’s something else special going on in our back yard. Three Boynton Beach venues—Death or Glory, Sweetwater and Driftwood—have teamed up for this cause. As is the case with most everything Death or Glory is involved in, it’s a creative and fun venture. Tonight at 7 p.m., you can catch a free trolley at Death or Glory or Sweetwater and take a ride between those two. It’s all a part of the restaurants’ Beach Clean Up and Cocktail Crawl. Since Driftwood is closed on Mondays, if you roll the Negroni dice (pictured) at the other two venues, you get a third Negroni free when visiting Driftwood during the rest of the week. The trolley is available only Monday night.

The other unique part to this is the dice being used at both Death or Glory and Sweetwater. These are special Negroni dice that can choose your drink if you want them to: The dice sides have a spirit, Campari and different vermouths. The cocktail can be made many ways, but typically with gin, vermouth and Campari. But there’s no luck needed to have a Negroni and help donate money to a charity. That’s a sure bet.
