Try a Lord Grantham Old Fashioned, Vote at Crane’s Best Bite Competition

If you’re a Masterpiece TV “Downton Abbey” fan, you’ve probably heard about the amazing exhibit at West Palm Beach’s CityPlace by now. It came here after the opening run in NYC and will be here at least through New Year’s.

It’s a timed exhibit, so you need to go online to buy tickets for a certain date and time. There are costumes, videos, reproductions of the rooms in the mansion and more.

There’s an added plus here, too: The City Cellar restaurant at CityPlace will take 10 percent off your bill when you show your ticket. There’s a Lord Grantham Old Fashioned cocktail—a salute to matriarch Robert Crawley on the series—for $10.

I think Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess (actress Maggie Smith) would approve!

Best Bite competition at Crane’s on Nov 15

The 7th annual Best Bite Restaurant Competition will be held again at Crane’s Beach House Boutique Hotel & Luxury Villas on Nov. 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. You can make RSVPs online here.

For $25, you’ll have one drink ticket, a chance to win a ticket for special gifts, and a token to vote for your fave venue. The restaurant with the most tokens at the end of the event is the winner. The defending 2017 winners are Avant (first place) and Tim Finnegan’s Irish Pub (popular vote winner). Also competing this year will be City Oyster, Pizza Rustica and Salt7. Try craft beers and ales from Saltwater Brewery.

Proceeds from the event are donated to Project Holiday and the HOW Foundation of South Florida.
