With the arrival of October comes breast cancer awareness activities across town, from fundraisers to walks and informational gatherings.

Wear the Pink, Oct. 8 at Blushington, 19635 FL-7 Suite 40 in Boca Raton. Show your support of breast cancer awareness with the signature blowout, amped up with three pink hair extensions. Twenty percent of the $60 treatment will be donate to the Go Pink Challenge at the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute and the Schmidt Family Center for Breast Care. Pink Shabbat, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. Congregation B’nai Israel, 2200 Yamato Road in Boca Raton. An evening of advocacy and early detection with local author and breast cancer survivor Rachel Sobel, Chani Kolan of Sharsheret, Cantorial Soloist Marcy Morris, and a special Pink Oneg with pink challahs. “Anchored in Wellness,” Oct. 14 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Lynn Women’s Health and Wellness Institute, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, 690 Meadows Road in Boca Raton. The Junior League of Boca Raton is hosting an evening of breast health education with speaker and breast health specialist Cheryl Moss-Mellman, MD. Free; call 561/620-2553 and RSVP on Eventbrite. 

Go Pink Luncheon, Oct. 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Boca Raton, 501 E. Camino Real in Boca Raton. Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth will be speaking at this signature event, raising money for the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. Register here. 

Making Strides of Palm Beach County, Oct. 24, 8:45 a.m. runner start and 9 a.m. for walkers. Sunset Cove Amphitheater, 20405 Amphitheater Circle in Boca Raton. Join the movement to end breast cancer, either by walking or running for a cause. Sign up here.
