I like to think of every month as pasta month, but officially, October is National Pasta Month and Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Boca Raton is celebrating in a unique way.
To honor the memory of the late George Minutaglio, the restaurant’s VP of Operations who passed away earlier this year from pancreatic cancer, the venue is donating $1 from every sale of Pasta Georgio to cancer research.
The dish—a new addition to the menu—was created in Minutaglio’s memory and is penne pasta with sautéed bell peppers and Romano, tossed in roasted red pepper sauce, topped and baked with meatballs and mozzarella (pictured above). The donations will continue through December.

Coolinary Café plans guest chef series
Foodie fave Coolinary Café—with “soulful items along with retro comfort fare”—is hosting guest chefs for October and November. The café’s customers will be the winners here.
On Oct. 10, Chef/Owner Tim Lipman will welcome Chef Jimmy Strine (formerly of Buccan and Café Boulud) to serve a fall menu that works in local and seasonal flavors. On Nov. 7, Lipman will create with Chef Aaron Black of PB Catch (Palm Beach) with the same goal in mind. Details of the meals and ticket prices will be here.
