Breaking: Delray Beach City Commission Officially Fires George Gretsas

The Delray Beach City Commission has fired City Manager George Gretsas.

During a special meeting Friday, a majority of the commission supported all the nine misconduct charges against Gretsas. Only on one charge, however, was the commission unanimous. On six of the charges, the vote was 3-2, with Ryan Boylston and Adam Frankel opposed.

The decision comes five turbulent months after the commission suspended Gretsas. His attorney called the firing “a reign of terror” against the former manager. Mayor Shelly Petrolia said Gretsas “has created this.”

I’ll have much more in my Tuesday post.
