The kids are finally back in school and I’m not having to prep for a major hurricane this week. Life is good, all things considered! After a hot, busy summer, September is supposed to be the month local moms can finally recharge their batteries and take some time for themselves. Boca Raton is a town that caters to the “lady who lunches”—or what I like to call a lucky mom with a few hours on her hands. And my favorite place to take advantage? Mizner Park.
Though the legendary shopping plaza may be going through some growing pains as of late, I put together a fun, yet relaxing itinerary for a fabulous Boca mom’s day out at Mizner. And, I’m confident in my choices because I just experienced all of the following myself this week. It was a good day.
Stop #1: Kendra Scott
Treating yourself to some seasonal bling has never felt more creative and personal than when you’ve taken advantage of the Kendra Scott Color Bar. For under $100, you can design a custom necklace, earrings, bracelet, and a ring…even cufflinks onsite at this painter’s palette of a jewelry store. Bonus? They’ll happily serve you a complimentary sparkling beverage as you design your custom Kendra Scott piece.
Stop #2: Z Gallerie
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I think Z Gallerie wins the award for the nicest smelling retailer at Mizner Park. Not to mention the most sparkly…even more so than Kendra Scott if you can believe it. The store’s fall collections just dropped, so if you enjoy designing tablescapes or simply need some stylish inspiration for your Thanksgiving spread, consult the Z Gallerie experts. They actually cleared one of their dining tables in store and helped me design my upcoming holiday tablescape from scratch!
Stop #3: Max’s Grille
A Mizner Park institution, Max’s Grille is THE place to power lunch…or have a delicious meal with one of your mom friends like I did. After all, you’ll be hungry after your first two stops! I highly recommend the Zoodles & Shrimp Primavera and Thai Tuna Salad. I also recommend a glass or two of rosé. Today, you are a lady who lunches after all.
Stop #4: Gramercy Salon
If you’re a harried mom like me, you probably haven’t had time to give yourself a proper blowout in weeks. Leave it to the experts at Gramercy Salon and spring for a scalp treatment to get rid of that dry shampoo buildup (trust me, I saw it for myself on camera) and a blowout to put some spring back in your step…and your ‘do! Go from “mom with a messy bun” to hair done with executive stylist, Chelsea Keely. My Instagram followers couldn’t stop messaging me about my transformation. And it happened just in time because our next stop is…
Stop #5: Loch Bar
Time for Happy Hour with the hubby! And Happy Hour at Loch Bar is something special when you order their signature frozen bourbon slushies and frosé (frozen rosé…I’m sensing a trend here). Indulge in a “his and her” oyster break and split an order of the delicious Cajun cauliflower and crab fritters. I also have to give Loch Bar special kudos for their spot-on lobster roll. Being married to someone from Maine, we are very picky. But this one? We felt like we were dining in his home state right here in Boca.
Stop #6: Sur la Table
As parents, we never get enough date nights on the calendar, so we made a special point to book an upcoming cooking class to spend some time creating a delicious meal together under the supervision of a Sur la Table chef. I can’t wait to have dinner in Tuscany (via Boca Raton)!
Honorary Stop: Mizner Park Amphitheater
I love this itinerary, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Mizner Park Amphitheater. Almost every week, MPA is hosting an exciting show or festival…it’s quite amazing. This coming weekend alone, UB40 ft. Shaggy is stopping in our town to give Boca a major reggae show!
Now you just need to make the time to do it all!
