UPDATE: The restaurant sent out a statement Tuesday evening that the restaurant was sold and closed its doors on Monday.
“Racks Downtown Eatery and Tavern has been and always will be one of my proudest achievements,” owner Gary Rack says. “We have big plans to expand the Farmhouse Kitchen brand in the Boca community and the surrounding area. We have found great success in the combination our sushi and raw bar offering joined with our scratch kitchen farm to table fare.”
After almost a decade in business, Gary Rack’s Mizner Park restaurant, Racks Downtown Eatery + Tavern, closed its doors.
Although there were no signs of its closing on its website and social media, the voicemail message at the restaurant tells callers that it is “closed for business,” referring them to make reservations at sister restaurant Farmhouse Kitchen instead. Rack’s other restaurant, Racks Fishhouse & Oyster Bar, is located in Delray Beach and participated in the city’s largest culinary event, Savor the Avenue.
There is also a message on the restaurant’s Open Table page, “Racks Downtown is currently closed. It has been such a pleasure serving you.” Yelpers also reported the restaurant as closed.
Mizner Park has seen a flurry of turnover in the last few years, with Truluck’s closing in April 2018, Juniors in June 2018 and Uncle Julio’s.
