Cooks, start your blenders. Seattle-based Sur La Table, the purveyor of upscale kitchen implements and food products, is coming to Boca Raton with a planned Oct. 31 debut in Mizner Park.
The almost 6,000-square-foot store will take over the space at 438 Plaza Real formerly home to the Stepping Out shoe store, will have 20 full and part-time employees and a program of cooking classes to be taught by a Resident Chef who spokeswoman Stephanie Bleiberg says has yet to be chosen.
Those classes run from two to two-and-a-half hours and focus on seasonal cuisine and culinary technique, from beginner to advanced with special classes for kids and teens. According to the company website, classes range in price from $35 to $100, and cover such topics as “Essential Knife Skills,” “Ravioli from Scratch” and “Date Night: Tapas Party.”
The Mizner Park Sur will be the fifth local outlet, joining stores in Aventura, Coconut Creek, Pembroke Pines and Palm Beach Gardens. It is the only one to offer cooking classes, however.
